How can we improve your home’s air?

When Calgary homes are sealed tight against the cold, indoor air quality suffers. Alberta Indoor Comfort improves the air your family breathes — from HRV ventilation and HEPA filtration to UV purification and humidity control — for homes across Calgary, Airdrie, Cochrane and area.

Why indoor air quality matters

Wellness you breathe — every single day

Relief for allergy & asthma sufferers

Removing airborne allergens — pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mould spores — from circulating air reduces triggers and helps your family breathe easier every day.

Fresh air, properly ventilated

Modern Calgary homes are sealed tight. An HRV or ERV continuously replaces stale, CO₂-rich air with fresh outdoor air — keeping the whole house feeling alive and alert.

Balanced humidity for health & comfort

Air that’s too dry irritates airways and skin; air that’s too humid feeds mould and dust mites. A whole-home humidifier or dehumidifier keeps the balance right year-round.

Why indoor air quality matters in Calgary

The air inside may be the biggest wellness gap in your home

Calgary’s cold climate means windows stay shut for months and homes are sealed tight for energy efficiency. That traps CO₂, VOCs, pet dander, dust, moisture, and odours inside. The result: stale, stuffy air that affects sleep, focus, and long-term respiratory health.

A smarter home starts with better air

An IAQ upgrade is an investment you feel from the first breath — and one that protects your family's health for years to come.

Ventilation vs. filtration — what’s the difference?

They solve different problems: ventilation (HRV/ERV) replaces stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air — it removes CO₂, VOCs, and odours. Filtration (HEPA, MERV, UV) cleans the air already in your home — it captures particles, allergens, and pathogens. The right solution depends on your home's specific issues; most families benefit from both working together.

Duct cleaning & whole-home IAQ

Your duct system carries conditioned air to every room — and whatever’s in it. Duct cleaning removes years of accumulated dust, pet dander, debris, and potential mould before it circulates through your home. Pair it with an upgraded filter or UV system for comprehensive whole-home air quality.

Frequently asked questions

What is an HRV and do I need one?
An HRV (Heat Recovery Ventilator) continuously exchanges stale indoor air with fresh outdoor air while recovering 75–85% of the heat — so you breathe cleaner air without spiking your heating bill. Most modern Calgary homes benefit from one, especially tightly-sealed new builds.
What’s the difference between an HRV and an ERV?
Both exchange air efficiently. An HRV transfers heat only — ideal for Calgary’s cold winters. An ERV also transfers moisture, which helps in very dry climates or homes where humidity is already low. We’ll recommend the right unit after assessing your home.
What does a HEPA air cleaner actually do?
A whole-home HEPA or high-MERV media cleaner filters the air every time your furnace fan runs — capturing dust, pet dander, pollen, mould spores, and fine particles down to 0.3 microns. It treats every room, not just where a portable unit sits.
Can improving indoor air quality help with allergies or asthma?
Yes — significantly. Removing airborne allergens (pollen, dust mites, pet dander, mould spores) reduces triggers. Many of our clients with asthma or seasonal allergies report meaningful relief after installing high-efficiency filtration or an HRV. We'll walk you through what's most likely helping your family.
How much does an indoor air quality assessment cost?
Our in-home IAQ consultation is free and no-obligation. We look at your ventilation, humidity levels, filtration, and any specific concerns you’ve noticed — then give you an honest recommendation and exact pricing for your home.
What causes stale or stuffy air inside a home?
Modern homes are sealed tight for energy efficiency, which traps CO₂, VOCs, moisture, and odours inside. Without mechanical ventilation (an HRV or ERV), the air turns stale. Inadequate filtration and duct buildup can make it worse. Fresh-air ventilation is almost always the fix.
Do you offer UV air purification?
Yes — we install in-duct UV-C systems that neutralise bacteria, viruses, and mould spores as air passes through your furnace. Paired with quality filtration it’s one of the most comprehensive air-quality upgrades available for an existing duct system.
